How to take the test

The Skill Passport® shows how you work an alert, not just what you remember. You work one realistic case in a single timed sitting of 40 minutes.

What it tests

• Examining documents and records
• Testing the numbers and tracing the money
• Recognising typologies and red flags
• Making enquiries without tipping off
• Proportionate decisions, including when not to escalate
• Writing a clear note an MLRO can act on

How to do your best

1. Read the whole alert and customer file before you form a view.
2. Look at what the customer sees, then check it on the blockchain.
3. Add the evidence you rely on to your case file as you go. Leave out noise.
4. Decide on the evidence. Some versions of the case have a lawful explanation.
5. Keep about 10 minutes for your note to the MLRO.
6. Watch the timer and the save status. Your work saves every few seconds, but at the deadline only work already saved to the server counts. Do not leave answers to the last few seconds.

Before you start

• Set aside 40 minutes in a quiet place. A laptop or desktop works best.
• You have one sitting at a time. If your connection drops, come back while time remains and you resume from your last saved work. Use one tab and one device at a time.
• It is open book: you may use your notes. Work on your own.
• Your answers are scored; your activity is recorded as supporting review context. You will be asked to agree before you start.
• If you need extra time for a disability or health condition, contact us before you start.
• Try the practice lab first. It works the same way and shows feedback as you go.

Objective thresholds and the review rubric are provisional beta criteria. This result does not affect your course certificate.
